The benefits of meal prepping have been extolled COUNTLESS times. You save money and you eat better who doesn’t want that?Read More
I always feel like the couple days after a race I’m pretty brain dead. To be honest, I’m still not there a hundred percent but I wanted to write a recap ASAP so here we go.Read More
Well, it’s finally here. Pumpkin Spice everything season. You can’t hide from it, so why fight it? I love making waffles any chance I get so I couldn’t resist making some pumpkin spice protein waffles.Read More
Man oh man, October 6th is coming up soon. I signed up for the Tesla Hertz 50k a week or two ago after going back and forth between a million races. Not really a million, more like 3, but anyways…Read More
Lately I’ve been very into figuring out the ideal fueling situation before I train. I’ve played around with fasted run and I figured out that I just feel (and perform) so much better if I eat something before my run. It also let’s my stomach get used to digesting food on the run.Read More
Figuring out what to eat before a long run takes some trial and error. I’ve definitely had a few really bad runs due to some poor fueling choices. Flashback to a few weeks ago where I was so nauseas I had to stop my run because I felt so sick. Ugh, there’s no worse feeling then having a sour stomach ruin your run. It’s better that I found out that smoothies don’t work for me before a run during training and not the morning of a race.Read More
One of my favorite things about living in NYC is the Union Square Farmers Market. I love walking through and seeing all the different farmers from around the tri-state area. Not only do they have amazing fruits and vegetables,Read More
So I'm relaxing after a wonderfully busy week getting ready for my long run tomorrow. Because of my schedule I do my long runs on Mondays. Between my work schedule and running schedule, I'm always looking for ways to recover and relax. Is recovery hacks a term? Anyways, I'm trying to constantly maximize my recovery to show up to my runs (and life in general) as fresh as I canRead More
So, one of the things I get asked about a lot is CBD. I use it just about everyday. When I first heard of it I was definitely hesitant to try it because I'm not a fan of smoking weed. I've tried and I just don't like how I feel when I'm high. It would make me feel like I was stuck on the couch and I don't like things that mess with my lungs.Read More
Hope everyone's summer is going good. It seems like it is FLYING by amirite?
Anyways, I'm back to running after an extended break and man, is it hard. I know the heat and the humidity aren't helping but dang, I feel like I'm starting at square one.
Oh hey guys!
Just getting back in the swing of things after vacation and starting my training for my upcoming fall races (and beyond!)
My "A" race for 2018 is the Daytona 50. It was my first successful 50 mile finish. I'm looking to beat my 2016 time, which as long as I don't fall, shouldn't be a problem.
I've been making these NON STOP since the warm weather arrived. They're perfect to make a day ahead of time and and serve them the next day cold. I actually think they taste better when they can marinate in the fridge overnight or at least for a few hours.Read More
So summer is finally here and I AM SO EXCITED. I love running in the heat. There's nothing better then feeling the sun and not have to spend 15 minutes looking for your other glove. Maybe it has something to do with spending the first 23 years of my life in hot and humid Florida, or it's PTSD from the soul killing Boston winters. Either way, bring on the heat.Read More
So it’s no secret that I’ve been not running for a while now. What started as some tightness in my quad turned it a some major issues. Basically my whole body is outta whack so I’ve been spending some major time (and money) on physical therapy getting me back on trackRead More
Lately I've been aaallll about oat milk. I like to switch around what milks I use and now that more and more coffee shops have Oat Milk, I've been using it in my cold brew.Read More
One of the reasons I signed up for the Leona Divide 50/50 was to have an excuse to travel to Los Angeles. I'll be honest, I've never had a real desire to travel to LA. I don't know why, but when planning a vacation it just wasn't ever on the table.Read More
I'm not gonna bullshit you. This race wrecked me.Read More
