My Go To Green Smoothie

Ever since I read Kimberly Snyder's The Beauty Detox Solution I've been making a variation of her Glowing Green Smoothie (GGS). It's a ton of greens blended to be easily digested so your body can absorb all the minerals and nutrients ASAP. It's also filled with fiber which helps me feel fuller, longer. It's also a great way to get your greens when you really don't have time to sit and eat a huge salad.

My version usually includes:

  • 1 cup coconut water
  • A head of romaine lettuce
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 2 huge handfuls of baby spinach
  • 1 apple (chopped)
  • 1 pear or mango (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon of spirulina
  • 2 teaspoons of maca
  • 2 bananas
  • A little nub of ginger

Grab your Vitamix! Blend the coconut water with the romaine, celery and spinach. When mostly blended, add the apple and pear, then the spirulina, maca, bananas and ginger. Blend till completely smooth....there's nothing worse then a chunky green smoothie. This usually makes about 60 oz. I can usually fill up two big mason jars to drink throughout the day.
