Butternut Squash Smoothie Recipe

Butternut squash smoothie

Hi guys!

So I know we are almost about to transition into spring but I'm still a sucker for fall flavors (cinnamon, pumpkin spice, etc) ALL YEAR. They are just super comforting and the past few weeks have been kinda stressy so it feels nice to sit down with a nice soothing smoothie bowl. I've been making cauliflower smoothies on repeat lately and I've gotten the message from Chris that he wanted to switch things up.

Butternut squash is rad because

  • It's high in fiber
  • Super creamy
  • Filled with potassium
  • Good source of B6
  • 1 cup is over half the daily recommendation of vitamin C which helps with your immune system
  • High in antioxidants
  • Reduces inflammation

So here's how to make it

  • 1/2 cup frozen butternut squash
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 scoop Vega vanilla protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamon
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon maca
  • 1 tablespoon coconut butter
  • 1/2 - 1 cup almond milk

Blend all of the ingredients in your high speed blender. Pour in a bowl or a glass. I topped mine with some Purely Elizabeth Gluten Free Granola and Coconut Cult yogurt
