Oh hello! (Life Update)

Hey guys!

Hope everyone's summer is going good. It seems like it is FLYING by amirite?

Anyways, I'm back to running after an extended break and man, is it hard. I know the heat and the humidity aren't helping but dang, I feel like I'm starting at square one.

During my time off I decided to switch coaches. My previous coach was a great guy but it wasn't a good fit. I don't need to get into the nitty gritty, but it was just time for a change. I switched to Scott of Run Fastah and holy smokes! I'm really happy. All the details and explanation of the workouts really appeal to my type A personality. It's been tough coming back, but I've been enjoying all the new workouts and getting back into training. There where a few races I had on my calendar that I'm not sure if I'll be ready to do but my I'm headed back to Daytona to race (and hopefully not fall) the 50 mile distance!

OTHER RUNNING NEWS: I'm doing the Speed Project next year! This has been a race that I've been wanting to do for a while and my friend Vics asked me to be on her team and I immediately said yes. Don't know what the Speed Project is? Its an unsanctioned ultra relay that starts at the Santa Monica Pier and ends at the Los Vegas sign for a distance of around 340 miles. I'll be running around 60ish miles but broken up in probably 6 mile increments.  I'm so excited to run this and to train for this. I'm still eying a 100 miler but it's kind of up in the air as to which one. I'd love to do the Keys 100 tbh.

NUTRITION TINGS: The good part of having my A race far off and doing less miles then I was previously, I get to tinker with my diet a bit. It's not really a good idea to switch up your diet drastically in the middle of a training cycle or super close to a race. I've been eyeing with the idea of MACROS. I lose weight on keto but felt kinda heavy and have just been eating whatever lately. I'm one of those people who LOVE tracking things and following programs so it may be interesting to try it out. I'm researching it now so I'll keep y'all updated. Expect a lot of running/racing nutrition content.

LIFE TINGS: I hope y'all are making the most of this summer (I know I'm trying). In between trying to finish I'll Be Gone In The Dark (it's terrifying) and Beyond Training (game changing) I have some fun recipes and posts coming up! We are moving in October and I'm so excited to have a bigger kitchen and up my food photography game.

Let me know in the comments of any topics you'd like to see or recipes! Or just say "Hey!".
