I’m currently training to complete my first 100 mile ultramarathon. This isn’t my first time attempting it, although this time I’m definitely going to finish. I’ve gone through some of the things that went wrong so I don’t do them again. The silver lining of a bad race is learning from it and not repeating the same mistakes. Ya live and you learn. So today I’m sharing what went wrong to help anyone else who is training for their first ultra.Read More
You guys, summer is officially here.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d much rather have the heat and the humidity over the snow and the cold any day of the week. Maybe it’s from growing up in Florida, but I just feel better running this time of the year. Or maybe that’s what I say to myself to try to make it easier, who knows?Read More
’ve been devouring High Performance Habits by Brendon Burchard. One of the things he talked about was PROGRESSIVE MASTERY. Whats make it different then just putting in the hours and doing the same thing over and over is it focuses on the right kind of practice and monitoring your progressive along the way.Read More
So I’m currently in the middle of my two week no running break. While it’s been nice to sleep in and do less laundry I miss running! My coach told me to keep it easy in general and just relax and try to be a normal person but man, it’s hard! I have been taking the down time to work on my mental game because running is as much mental as it is physical. I’ve definitely had races where physically I’ve felt fine but mentally I was cashed and ready to quit. These books are great for running, training or basically life in general.Read More
I’ll be honest, this has been a hard post to write. It was such a special and, I know it sounds cheesy to say, life changing event that it’s hard to put into words the full experience.Read More
So these months have been super busy between work and training for the Speed Project, not to mention trying to be a good partner to Chris and keeping up with friends and family….time is stretched pretty, pretty thin.Read More
So I thought I’d start sharing what exactly I eat during my training. If you follow me on instagram (@lisalindeyeats) on my stories I usually show what I’m eating but I want to break it down and get specific of what and why.Read More
Week two of the Whole30 is in the books. Still feeling good. I wish I could say that I don’t miss vegan junk food but I have been craving a burger from Rip’s Malt shop. Chris and I have also been plotting about what to eat during the Super Bowl. We don’t care about football in the slightest but love the food.Read More
Hi! Hello! First Monday of 2019!
So I was all set to go on my long run and realized that my Garmin was dead. *FACEPALM* UGHHHH. Such a rookie mistake, amirite? Since Garmin (or at least mine) take forever to charge, I thought it would be a good time to talk about my running goals for 2019.Read More
I hate running in the cold. Like seriously hate it. Too bad for me, I live in the Northeast and like to run spring races. So I gotta get my buns outside. Between living in Boston and now in Brooklyn, I’ve spent a lot of winters running outdoors. And I’ll be honest, it does help with my winter blues to get outside. After awhile, 35 degrees seems warm. Kinda.Read More
I’ve been OBSESSED with beets lately. I feel like they are way underrated as far as “super foods” go. If you are a runner or workout, beets should be your new BFF. I’m currently ramping up for my next ultramarathon in December (a 50 miler in Florida) so I’ve been eating or drinking beets just about everydayRead More
So I'm relaxing after a wonderfully busy week getting ready for my long run tomorrow. Because of my schedule I do my long runs on Mondays. Between my work schedule and running schedule, I'm always looking for ways to recover and relax. Is recovery hacks a term? Anyways, I'm trying to constantly maximize my recovery to show up to my runs (and life in general) as fresh as I canRead More
So, one of the things I get asked about a lot is CBD. I use it just about everyday. When I first heard of it I was definitely hesitant to try it because I'm not a fan of smoking weed. I've tried and I just don't like how I feel when I'm high. It would make me feel like I was stuck on the couch and I don't like things that mess with my lungs.Read More
Hope everyone's summer is going good. It seems like it is FLYING by amirite?
Anyways, I'm back to running after an extended break and man, is it hard. I know the heat and the humidity aren't helping but dang, I feel like I'm starting at square one.
Oh hey guys!
Just getting back in the swing of things after vacation and starting my training for my upcoming fall races (and beyond!)
My "A" race for 2018 is the Daytona 50. It was my first successful 50 mile finish. I'm looking to beat my 2016 time, which as long as I don't fall, shouldn't be a problem.
So summer is finally here and I AM SO EXCITED. I love running in the heat. There's nothing better then feeling the sun and not have to spend 15 minutes looking for your other glove. Maybe it has something to do with spending the first 23 years of my life in hot and humid Florida, or it's PTSD from the soul killing Boston winters. Either way, bring on the heat.Read More
So it’s no secret that I’ve been not running for a while now. What started as some tightness in my quad turned it a some major issues. Basically my whole body is outta whack so I’ve been spending some major time (and money) on physical therapy getting me back on trackRead More
I'm not gonna bullshit you. This race wrecked me.Read More
I'm always on a mission to make food that tastes amazing, but is good for you. Especially something that will satisfy my snacking urges that hit around 3pm or after dinner. With as much running as I do, I want to make sure everything I'm putting in my mouth can fuel me. (Eat Better = Run Better)Read More
